Silk Dupioni (45 Inch)

Silk dupioni fabric is 100% silk and measures at 44/45" wide. It is a superb quality silk woven from the threads of double cocoons originating in the far east. This fabric is soft and wrinkly but maintains the unique coarse dupioni texture. Although similar to silk shantung, dupioni is hand-woven instead of machine woven and therefore has slightly more slubs.

The luxurious silk works wonderfully with upholstery and apparel creations such as dresses, ball gowns, suits and other timeless heirloom garments. When draped, it falls in soft folds and is the most versatile fabric we carry. Use this fabric to create masterpieces that is sure to stand out at any event. This fabric can be used as backdrops, and other drapery fabrics.
